HEALING IS A CREATIVE PROCESS
Story Work is a unique process of unlearning and reimagining that allows you to find new meaning in your life experiences.
This six-week group experience is an introductory version of a new healing intensive that I am offering in connection with the launch of my book, Story Work: Field Notes on Self-Discovery and Reclaiming Your Narrative which is forthcoming from Broadleaf Books in November. This series will give participants the opportunity to receive coaching and community support as they are guided through a six-step creative process of turning limiting beliefs and wounds from the past into healing narratives that empower them to live more fully expressed lives.
RECLAIMING YOUR STORY
Hi, my name is GG, and writing saved my life.
For years, I allowed my confusing childhood and bad decisions in young adulthood to define how I felt about the quality and worth of my life. In Story Work, I write about the stories I told myself (and desperately hid from others) that kept me from getting the help I needed. I believed that I was prewired for mental illness and that I’d spend the rest of my life waiting for my mind to betray me. That I didn’t deserve happiness or abundance because I’d made too many mistakes and disappointed myself and others too many times. I believed there was something broken inside. These limiting beliefs showed up in my life as painful patterns, my life situations taking on the form of my thoughts and feelings.
Writing opened my mind to the idea that I could change my story.
There’s a life-changing shift that happens when you realize that no matter what you’ve been through, your story can be a source of strength. By honoring your experiences with curiosity instead of criticism, your story becomes a source of wisdom and guidance.
The Story Work Healing Intensive will show you how to use creative
writing to develop healing narratives that allow you to
navigate your life with renewed hope and broader vision.

AM I THE RIGHT COACH FOR YOU?
Writing took me from living a defeated story to finding a creative vision for my life.
I spent years trying to hide my heart. I always felt like I was having a different experience than everyone else, and that no one would understand or care about my heart-centered, soul-focused point of view.
I fought against this part of me. I believed when people told me that my sensitivity was a weakness. I believed the inadequacy I felt when I couldn’t find work that matched my gifts. I made choices that ignored my needs and then I wondered why I felt so lost and afraid.
I know now that it couldn’t have been any other way because I needed to learn so I could teach. And be a catalyst for other sensitive souls with stories and testimonies that the world needs.
Writing is how I carved out a place for myself and found the courage to be seen. Now, my mission is to help others improve the quality of their lives through the power of the written word.
I approach coaching and facilitating as a teaching artist, with lessons from my creative journey infused into the strategies and tools I offer including practical insights for developing process and craft, as well as personal development support for building courage and resilience.

“
GG's workshops are always quite transformative for me. Her engaging style and supportive nature make it easy to explore the uncharted territory of my creative efforts. I appreciate the structured approach she takes, as it turns previously daunting goals into the achievable. I also value her commitment to creating a safe and exploratory environment where we can take chances and push boundaries while moving at the pace that is right for us. This helped me find a level of ease in facing my own discomfort. No matter where you are in your creative journey, I'm certain you'll find value in GG's programs. I'm personally looking forward to continuing to learn from and grow through the various AML offerings!”

WHEN WE AVOID WRITING, WE AVOID THE HEALING IT OFFERS
Writing your life stories gives you a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences. Once you start looking at your life as a story, full of turning points and transformations, you can observe your memories, thoughts, and imagination differently. You can discover your ability to reshape the narratives that don’t serve you, and with this awareness you can uncover new storylines for your life that inspire you.
Our stories hold wisdom for us. When we avoid this calling, we avoid our healing. Often, we avoid the journey because:
We know we will uncover hidden beliefs, needs, dreams, and desires that we’re scared to face.
Someone taught us that it’s weak or self-absorbed to spend time reflecting on our needs and desires.
We think we will become sad, depressed, afraid, or consumed with negative emotions when we face difficult truths.
We don’t believe that we are capable of finding the words to articulate our stories.
We’ve been taught if we tell our stories, they will be used against us.
We think we don’t have time to incorporate this work into our daily lives so we say we’ll do it “one day.”
You don’t know how or where to start.
the Story Work healing intensive ADDRESSES THESE CONCERNS
AND offers accessible ways to make self-discovery
an empowering act of creative exploration that you can nourish every day.
THIS SERIES IS FOR YOU IF:
You have a story you need and want to tell, but you don’t know where to start.
You are interested in deep reflection, creative self-discovery, and personal storytelling with guidance from a mentor and the support of a community.
You’re seeking practical tools to overcome the fears that keep you from writing with heart-open vulnerability.
You want to learn a healing approach to writing that will benefit you for the rest of your life.
“
Having just completed my second round of the Creative Courage Intensive, I am incredibly grateful for GG's approach to supporting not only writers, but also soul seekers of all kinds. Her way of teaching, her frameworks for harnessing creativity, and her gentle and vulnerable way of holding space for everyone in her programs is so unique, warm, and inspiring. I'm incredibly grateful to GG for giving me the support, but even more so the confidence, to own my work as a writer and a human who wants to grow and make my life something that I love being in!”
